Inkaholics, a collaborative writing workshop for young writers, runs for 6 weeks with 2-hour sessions once a week, held at a local coffee shop, cafe, or MangyCat's super cool home office. Together, the group brainstorms and writes a novella over the course of 6 sessions.
Each participant is assigned scenes and takes ownership of the events that happen within set parameters. Students learn to work together to craft a story and contribute their own ideas and writing to the finished product.
AGE RANGES:
COST: $125
All participants will receive ONE FREE COPY of the final, professionally-designed, printed copy of the novella sometime after the workshop ends. They may purchase more copies, if desired, from Lulu.com. (No real names are used, as this book is available online and written by minors.)

Improve your young writer's composition skills through unique one-on-one sessions that focus on developing his or her own stories--their own words. Your young writer will learn the basics of grammar, punctuation, syntax, and more, while simultaneously discovering how to write a compelling page-turner.
METHOD
We will either work through the student's existing written pieces and/or creative writing assignments will be given to use during our sessions.
Together, we will go through the pages, line by line, and work to punch it to its highest potential. Along the way, the student will learn how to correct problem areas in grammar, sentence structure, and more, as we encounter them in their own writing. In this way, we will use our time more effectively, covering only the topics that need to be covered, and barely touching on that which has already been mastered.
RATE: 0.015 cents per word
Already have a fabulous finished piece of fiction, and you're looking for help in adding spit-n-polish? Perhaps you have a work-in-progress that is in dire need of editing help and perhaps a kick in the pants to get it going again. I would be honored to join you in that process.
I'll check and standardize grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other mechanics of style, as well as give you guidance in the flow of story, character consistency, and tips for improvement. Don't worry, it's not all about the red checkmarks; you will also receive praises when praises are due.
